Dear Brothers and Sisters.
 
Local 127 wrapped up voting on the next CBA Friday, August,16.2024 at close of business.
 
I’m pleased to announce that we had a total 54 votes for yes and 2 votes for no Thank you to all that voted.
 
Teamsters Local 127 needs to collect votes from the other CMUs, then we will forward it to the DOT for execution.

Synopsis of Local 127 contract

The following is a synopsis of the proposed contract for Units B and C:

Synopsis for Units B & C contracts – July 2024 – June 2027

  • Probationary period – clarified that it is nine months that may be extended by a maximum of 90 days

  • Up to four times per year a member can call in sick during an overtime week without losing overtime

  • Comp time will now be capped at 90 hours but employees can now accrue comp hours for holiday time worked

  • DIFFERENTIAL, STANDBY and FRINGE BENEFIT INCREASES

    • Weekend and shift differentials up $1 to $2.25

    • Can now get weekend diff for both Saturday and Sunday

    • Standby pay doubles to $35

    • Meal allowances more than doubled

    • Travel allowance doubles to $49/day

    • New bilingual differential of $80/pay period

  • Employees have the chance to work the hour of Daylight Savings change to avoid losing pay

  • Extended bereavement benefit to other relations

  • Modified family, medical and military leave to conform to law

  • Vacation enhancement for employees hired with significant experience

  • Public transit reimbursement 50% of qualified purchases

  • WAGE INCREASES

    • January 2025 – 3%

    • July 2025 – 2%

    • January 2026 – 2%

    • July 2026 – 2%

    • January 2027 – 2%

[Red circled employees get an equivalent bonus, but all employees will be getting the wage increase by the end of the contract period]

Membership dues

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

A reminder that the monthly dues rate for members of Teamsters Local 127 is 2.25% of the hourly wage. Dues increases should be implemented the month following any increase in an employee/member’s hourly rate of pay.

Plain and simple, as your pay increases, so will your dues.

I would also like to mention that members that are in arrears with their dues will see that being deducted from their pay as an initiation fee. And with the next two raises of 4% each you will see the dues increase.

Ratification Vote

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The ratification vote to extend our contract for one year with an 8% pay increase was a resounding Yes with one dissenting vote no.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
 
As you know, the contract was ratified and signed Jan,14.2022 with retroactive pay and the clock is still ticking.  I stated to all you members that your monies would be here by March at the latest, including $2000 Covid pay .
 
Teamsters fought long and hard and were lied to by Head Negotiator Olinda Marshall and the rest of the DOT team. She stated, and I quote, our contract and the Covid 19 pay did not need legislation approval.  Well, it most 
certainly did.  We are doing our best to help facilitate payments to all members.  Thank you for your patience .

Very Important Ratification Vote

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
 
On our new 2020-2023 CBA: Please review the proposed contract on the Teamsters Local 127’s web page at Teamsters127.org.
 
You will find the proposed contact under our download section. I ask each of you Teamsters to reach out to your brothers and sisters and ask them to vote. Send your vote to Teamsters127@verizon.net with your name and employee #.   Teamsters will collect vote till the close of business, 5p.m. Dec. 30, 2021.  As soon as we ratify this CBA, I can get you your well-deserved money. Acting Secretary of State Mr. Tessler stated the money’s there and put aside for all outstanding contacts.
